We were very fortunate. All day Saturday, drenching downpour kept everyone inside. The next day started sunny and cheerful. After church, John Broderick, surrounded by his volunteers, installed the sign-up booth and speakers for background music. He used to be a D.J. Then the walkers came along. Most paired into groups, partners encouraging each other to complete the 5K and pass the time sharing stories. One man managed to walk over 30,000 steps that day. Weather, though windy, felt pleasant enough to shed jackets. Towards the end, the sky grew cloudy, but stayed dry. I wish to thank the generous sponsors and walkers for showing their support.
